Climate Chaos and Law Enforcement: Strategies for cooperation in managing climate-related challenges

The 16th meeting of The Hague Roundtable on Climate & Security was held on 18 September under the title of “Climate Chaos and Law Enforcement: Strategies for cooperation in managing climate-related challenges.”

Participants from various organizations, government offices, and more than a dozen embassies came together for the dialogue.

The questions addressed during the half-day Roundtable meeting included: 1) What are the emerging risks? 2) What arekey preparations and response strategies? 3) Are there “win-win” scenarios for civil society actors and police? 4) How cannew approaches influence policy and practice? What are prevention and collaboration points in addressing criminalactivity that may be directly or indirectly exacerbated by climate impacts: violence, terrorism, environmental crimes?
